Anti-Leak Systems
MottenVR avatars use two Anti-Leak systems.
These systems are designed to protect our avatars from unauthorized and illegal sharing, re-uploading, and redistribution.
Package Tracing Anti-Leak
Every Single MottenVR avatar includes Package Tracing Anti-Leak.
This system allows an avatar package to be traced back to its original purchaser.
If you share your avatar package with someone else, regardless of how many people it is shared with or how far it spreads, the package can ultimately be traced back to the account that originally purchased it.
Gonso's License Anti-Leak
Some MottenVR avatars use Gonso's License Anti-Leak in addition to Package Tracing.
This system ensures that only the legitimate license holder is authorized to use and upload the avatar.
The license is intended specifically for the person who legally owns right to the avatar.
Trusted Buyers, Creators, and Trusted Dancers/Content Creators may ask for an edit-able version of the avatar. If you are not trusted by Motten, it is unlikely you will receive it.
What Information Is Collected?
The licensing system only collects the information necessary for licensing and identification:
- Username
- License key
- Discord ID
The licenser does not install malware, token loggers, or other malicious software, nor is it designed to steal personal information.
Neither Gonso nor the creators who use this licensing system have a need, nor a want, to install harmful content or steal information from supporters.
If the system were unsafe or malicious, we would not use it on our avatars.
What Can I Still Edit?
Because of the Anti-Leak protection, certain avatar files cannot be exported or edited.
The following components are protected:
- FX Layers
- FBX
- Animator Parameters
However, normal Unity-based avatar customization remains possible.
You Can Still:
- Edit materials
- Edit textures
- Add prefabs
- Add toggles
- Make other standard Unity edits
In general, anything that does not require Blender remains editable in Unity.
Why Are Certain Files Locked?
The restrictions exist specifically to help protect the avatar from unauthorized extraction, modification, and redistribution.
The goal is to prevent the protected components from being easily exported and reused outside of the licensed avatar package while still allowing legitimate users to customize their avatar within Unity.
